FAQ'S
At Cairn Diamonds, we only work with GIA certified diamonds, or IGI certified lab diamonds. Both IGI and GIA diamonds are engraved with a serial number that is only visible under magnification – this number will correlate to the certificate that comes with the diamond. You should check the IGI or GIA number of your diamond under a microscope before and after the diamond is set, where possible.
The GIA is a non-profit organisation, highly regarded as the best, strictest diamond graders worldwide. This means you won’t overpay for a diamond that doesn’t live up to its standards, and will receive a detailed certificate outlining the diamond’s unique characteristics. We always recommend choosing GIA certified diamonds, if you’re planning on buying a natural diamond.
IGI are considered the best option for lab diamonds, as they provide a more in depth analysis and grading than the GIA currently offer. We advise choosing GIA or IGI for lab diamonds.

Our Natural diamonds originate from Canada, Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia. We are proud that each one of these countries mines are government operated with fair wages for the miners who have permanent positions and are properly trained with excellent Health and Safety Standards. And where the profits are reinvested back into the communities they operate in to go towards building schools and Hospitals.
Our LabGrown Diamonds are sourced directly from the manufacturers to guarantee authenticity and origin. It also creates a direct supply chain we can share with our customers to bring you the most competitive prices without any third party’s unnecessarily increasing prices.
We work closely with our trusted Fair Trade Gemstone organisation. Most Gemstones around the world are mined by artisanal miners (Often self employed) who can often work many hours and days for small returns. When they do eventually find a good value stone they often sell it without knowing its true value once it reaches the West. For example, a miner might sell a good quality Ruby to a middle man or cutter, yet Once they have cut the stone ready for selling, and as soon as it enters Europe or America the value of the stone could change.
The organisation we use goes around the world, directly to the artisanal miners, choosing the most exquisite and offering them a great, Western based value for their stones and bringing the profits back to the people that need it most in these remote communities.
